All schools in the Carpinteria Unified School District will be closed on Tuesday, March 14, due to concerns over an incoming storm.

CUSD Superintendent Diana Rigby said the decision came after the district received a recommendation to close from Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District Fire Chief Greg Fish.

A flood watch has been issued for Santa Barbara County, beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday. Forecasts indicate the heavy rainfall will cause significant runoff, likely causing flooding of local creeks and waterways.
