Fit Buddha and The Gym Next Door were among the studios and gyms that reopened last week. With studios in Santa Barbara and Ventura, Fit Buddha reopened Friday, June 12, with some guidelines in place. Class size is now limited to eight people per session and the studio has introduced small “pod” private appointments for those who have isolated together and would like to workout at the studio with just their “pod” group.

The Gym Next Door held a soft reopening on June 1 with members signing up for times by booking appointments in advance, wearing masks, washing hands and bringing only essential items. The Carpinteria gym formally reopened, though still by appointment, on Friday, June 12. Although classes have yet to begin, the classroom floor is ready to accommodate students with six feet of distance for tai chi, yoga, chair yoga, Zumba and balance ‘n stability classes to commence soon. Pure Maintenance of Santa Barbara County disinfected and sterilized the building, issued a 90-day protection certificate and will be doing weekly bacteria and virus levels checks.
