The Carpinteria High School football team held its awards banquet on Sunday, Dec. 8, honoring student athletes. Captain awards were given to Conor Bailey, Danny Grimes and Jacob Macias. In the Best Lineman category, Enrique Marin and Esai Vega shared honors. The Coaches award went to Will Collins. The Most Improved honor went to Gage Dinning. The Most Inspirational and Best Special Teams award were both captured by Jacob Mata. Best Defensive Player honors went to Irving Garcia and the Most Valuable Player award went to Diego Hernandez.
A new award was given out in honor of the late Ed Rubio, the Mr. Warrior Award, given to the player that represents high character on campus and in the community. The honor went to Jacob Mata. The All-Citrus Coast League team was also revealed, as Jacob Mata and Diego Hernandez earned spots on the First Team. The Second Team All-League selections went to Enrique Marin, Irving Garcia and Gage Dinning. The Honorable Mention list included Esai Vega, Diego Mendez and Will Collins.
Senior cheerleaders Kelsey Raunsbak, Andrea Angeles,Ali Ornelas,Jade Miranda, Morgan Wood and Caton Pettine were given special recognition for cheering in their last season of Warriors football. All the cheerleaders were honored at the banquet for their support throughout the season.
