Cate School recently announced their award winners from the 2019-20 winter sports season. For boys basketball: seniors Ethan Ng and Khadim Pouye and junior Nkemka Chukwumerije were named to the All-Frontier League First Team. Second Team honors went to seniors Thomas Nettesheim and Parker May and Honorable Mention status was earned by sophomores Mason Oetgen and Tyler Tom. 

For girls basketball, the Rams, who captured the Frontier League title with and 8-0 record, had seven players named to the All-League team. The Most Valuable Player award was earned by senior Maya Blattberg. Joining her on the First Team were sophomore Meena Baher and junior Lily Zanze. The Second Team consisted of senior Piper Brooks and junior Deborah Brittain. Honorable Mention awards were received by senior Jess Yang and sophomore Imani Oseso. Coach of the Year honors were granted to Laura Moore in her first year in charge of the program. 

The boys soccer team who won the Tri-Valley League with a 5-0-1 record, had five players make the First Team. The Offensive Most Valuable Player went to senior Buba Fofanah, and he was joined on the First Team by seniors Parker Bowlin and Harry Corman, and sophomores Daniel Boateng and Kobby Nimako. The Second Team had two Rams, senior Devin Pai and junior William Deardorff. Honorable Mention status was earned by senior William Anderson, sophomore Lukas Hendriks and freshman Owen Conde Raggett. Coach of the Year went to Pete Mack. 

The girls soccer team had three players named to the First Team, senior Neema Mugofwa and juniors Taylor Kane and Lilly Riehl. The Second Team included two Rams, juniors Jolea Moes and Tali Nam. Honorable Mention honors were bestowed upon seniors Kim Rogers and Grace Blankenhorn, and sophomore Rachel Ma. Coach of the Year honors went to Taylor Wyatt. 

The girls water polo team had a few honorees with Second Team recognition going to senior Marissa Strauss. Honorable Mentions were doled out to sophomores Tori Trimble and Alekha Rao, and freshman Liz Sutter. All-CIF Honors went to two Rams, in boys soccer to senior Buba Fofanah who was named to the First Team. And in girls basketball as announced last week, First Team recognition went to sophomore Meena Baher.
