Over the past few months there have been opinions expressed concerning out-of-town interests building a hotel that would occupy what is now the railroad parking lot.
This is not a letter for or against that initiative—this project could change the nature of our town.
What I advocate for is a vote on this proposition. We had a referendum in 2010 on Venoco’s plans for an extended-reach drilling project. A referendum gets all registered voters’ opinions. Let the citizens have a say on the future of our city.
