How could the city government of Carpinteria be pursuing the idea of imposing a public parking lot at the bottleneck to our downtown beach neighborhood?

Two years ago, over 150 people signed a petition against the idea that was submitted to the city, yet they persist.

Why would they favor supporting a hotel developer over Carpinteria citizens? No one would vote to put a parking lot entrance at the tightest point of our downtown beach neighborhood access. We are already subject to train crossing delays day and night. There is a busy pedestrian crossing nearby that crosses Linden at The Spot. For goodness sake, even tsunami warnings.

This parking lot idea makes no sense. This parking lot entrance isn’t safe on Linden. Please wake up and listen to your constituency! Councilman Al Clark gets it!
