Carpinteria Beautiful kicked off Coastal Cleanup Month on Sunday, Sept. 6, by organizing a “Trash Mob” to pick up and haul trash from Padaro Lane to Santa Ynez, Santa Clause Lane and the west end of Carpinteria Avenue. The group picked up a total of 15 bags of trash, and Carpinteria Beautiful volunteer Maire Radis filled four bags on Santa Clause Lane alone. In addition, Carpinteria Beautiful’s regular “adopt-a-spotters” took care of their areas. Carpinteria Beautiful will host trash pickups every weekend of September, focusing on different areas of Carpinteria. New volunteers are welcome, and for more information email:
