One of Canada’s three Maritime Provinces, Nova Scotia was first inhabited by the Mi’kmaq people. The province is renowned for its maritime history, including the development of the Bluenose schooner, and being the birthplace of Captain Joshua Slocum, the first man to sail singlehandedly around the world.
