A vehicle was stolen this morning in the Calle Ocho area. The suspect drove the auto westbound on Via Real, striking several objects and causing severe damage to the vehicle—leading to a helicopter, road and canine search, according to Sheriff’s Lieutenant Butch Arnoldi.
The suspect later drove off road, up the new embankment at the Linden Avenue overpass area and brought the vehicle to rest in the middle of the roadway where he left it, fleeing on foot. He then stole a bicycle in the Franklin Park area and continued to flee by bike.
Sheriff’s deputies along with the Sheriff’s helicopter and canine units responded, and after a well-coordinated search, located the suspect and took him into custody. Other than the stolen vehicle being damaged, there was no real significant property damage or injury to anyone, said Arnoldi.

Glad it ended well. (There should be no apostrophe in Sheriffs in the title)
