A student riding a bicycle heading to Carpinteria Middle School was struck by a car on Feb. 19.

A Carpinteria Middle School student was struck by a car at Palm Avenue and 8th Street while riding his bike to school on Wednesday morning, Feb. 19. The student was seen limping from the scene of the accident with his father, who was taking him for a medical evaluation. According to a witness, the student was riding the wrong way on 8th Street when the driver made a right turn from Palm Avenue.

The accident comes on the heels of an incident on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 13, in which two Carpinteria High School students were struck by a car in the crosswalk on Foothill Road leading to the high school.
