For children who depend on school meals for daily nutrition, the FoodBank of Santa Barbara’s Picnic in the Park program will offer free lunches to kids 18 and under Monday through Friday, from June 10 to Aug. 16, at 17 locations countywide while schools are closed for the summer. In Carpinteria, lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. at the Carpinteria Library, 5141 Carpinteria Ave.

Free lunches are served on a first-come first-served basis as part of the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program and there are no income requirements to participate. All children under the age of 18 are encouraged to attend. To donate or to sign up to volunteer, visit FoodBankSBC.org.
