Carpinteria Lions Club will hold its final Festival of Trees event later this month, offering Carpinterians the chance to get in on the last Christmas tree raffle run by the club.

Festival of Trees organizer, Lion Mike Dawson, said this will be the final year of the tree festival because the club is losing the downtown corridor, which he called the best location due to its proximity to the park, where the Christmas Parade and tree lighting happens. He said the club has been unable to find a large enough venue that can host, and invites comments from the public on options for a new location.

The club will open this year’s festival on Nov. 26, and it will run through Dec. 12. The club is looking for sponsors for its 25 trees; previous festivals have raised over $250,000 in proceeds for local nonprofits.

Those interested in sponsoring can contact Dawson at (805) 680-9600 or at
