Morning Rotarians are with Mark Toohey (far left) from the California Earthquake Authority.

Mark Toohey from the California Earthquake Authority (CEA)shared with Morning Rotary the reality of a major earthquake happening sometime in the next two or three decades.  After the Northridge earthquake, the state of California formed the CEA as a nonprofit to protect homeowners. Homeowners buy earthquake insurance through their homeowner’s policy, but the CEA holds the money in a reserve. In addition to repair funds, the CEA will provide up to $100,000 in living expenses.
