Two Carpinteria High School students were hit this morning by a driver in a red, two-door Toyota sedan. The students were walking near Carpinteria High School shortly before 7:45 a.m. when they were hit. Both pedestrians were awake and alert when Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and waited at the scene for law enforcement to arrive.

Deputies do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in this incident. The investigation is ongoing. Deputies are determining where the victims were when they were hit, the approximate speed of the vehicle, if there were any contributing factors, and if there was a party at fault.

Non-life threatening injuries?? We were hit by a car that was going easily over the speed limit. The person who wrote this doesn’t know anything
