Santa Barbara County Public Health has confirmed 2,509 confirmed cases in the county, including 44 in the South County communities of Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria.
Daily counts of new cases continue to climb and on June 23, 63 new cases were reported countywide, including four in the South County communities of Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria (which to date, Public Health has not separated by city).
The city of Santa Barbara had 10 new cases on June 23, bringing their total count to 215 (seven days ago, their count was 143).
Of 2,509 cases of Covid-19 across the county, 27 have resulted in death. Fourteen of those deaths were in the city of Santa Maria which now has 850 cases. Lompoc’s federal prison has had 990 cases, of which 978 are said to be recovered, and three ended in death. The city of Lompoc has had four deaths of their 129 cases.
This week, nearly 10,000 people were tested for Covid-19 across the county, with a total of 35,496 people tested since testing began.
Of the confirmed cases, 246 are still active, 2,010 have fully recovered, 176 are recovering at home, 61 are hospitalized, and 19 are hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Information on 226 cases is pending an update.
