Nadia Lyhitchenko’s Spanish class celebrated its one year anniversary this month. The community class is held in the backyard of the Carpinteria Woman’s Club every Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Lyhitchenko said she began teaching the class because she missed teaching. Students pay $5 per class, which Lyhitchenko donates to the Woman’s Club. New students are welcome.
