10:08 p.m. / Drunk in Public / 5700 block Via Real

Several parties reported a man lying on his back in the road near San Roque Mobile Home Park. Upon contacting the man, deputies determined he was intoxicated to the point he could no longer care for his own safety, or the safety or property of others. The man was arrested and booked into the jail without incident.

Monday, June 24

8:06 p.m. / Driving on a Suspended License / 5600 block of Carpinteria Avenue

A man was stopped for driving a vehicle with a taillight that was not working.  His license was suspended.  He was released on citation.

Tuesday, June 25

3:40 p.m. / Child Pornography / San Ysidro Road

Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired registration. A male driver’s records search showed he was on active probation with search terms for possession of child pornography. Part of his probation is that he is not permitted to have a cellphone with internet access. A search of one of his phones yielded 232 photos of child pornography. He was arrested and booked at Santa Barbara County Jail.

Wednesday, June 26

5:27 p.m. / Theft / Viola Fields

Sometime during Tuesday night and into Wednesday, an unknown suspect(s) stole the equipment boxes stored at the softball field. Missing items included bases, roll-a-tape and a field striper.

11:23 p.m.  / Drug Possession / Via Real and Casitas Pass Road

A man was contacted for not having a license plate light. He was found in possession of a usable amount of methamphetamine and two forged Social Security cards. Each card had a different number and variation of his four names.  

Thursday, June 27

3:55 p.m. / Traffic Collision / Casitas Plaza

Deputies received a call of a motorist colliding with the wall of Albertson’s located in Casitas Plaza. Deputies arrived and confirmed it was a non-injury incident.

8:13 p.m. / Warrant Arrest / Casitas Pass Road and Cameo Road

A man was contacted for expired registration. During the contact it was discovered he had a warrant for his arrest. He was transported to county jail without incident.

9:36 p.m. / Vehicle Code Violation / 4200 block of Via Real

A man was contacted for a suspected seatbelt violation. During the investigation it was discovered that he was displaying false registration tabs.

10:49 p.m. / Possession of methamphetamine / 1100 block of Casitas Pass Road

A deputy observed a man in the AM/PM gas station parking lot with a large knife hanging from around his neck. Upon contact with the man and a woman with him, the couple were found to be in possession of meth pipes and meth. Both were cited and released.

11:21 p.m. / Possession of methamphetamine / 1100 block of Casitas Pass Road

As a deputy arrived at the AM/PM gas station to assist with the above investigation, another man was contacted on the north side of the building as he was working on his bicycle. He admitted to being on probation in Ventura County, and during a search of his property, he was found to be in possession of a meth pipe with a usable amount in the bowl.

3:25 a.m.  / Identity Theft / Casitas Pass Road at Cameo Road    

A vehicle was stopped for failure to stop before the limit line. The female driver was found to be driving with a suspended California driver’s license. A female passenger with her provided the deputy with her sister’s name and date of birth to hide that she had a felony warrant out of Ventura County. Both subjects are from the Los Angeles area. During a vehicle search, three trash bags full of over the counter medication (Advil, Flonase, Rogaine, Bayer, Excedrin, Claritin, Allegra) were located.  The medication was seized for safekeeping.    

Friday, June 28

12:15 a.m. / Stolen Vehicle / Hickory Street

A man reported that his silver 2016 Nissan was stolen.

4:02 p.m. / Vehicle Traffic Collision / Bailard Avenue at Carpinteria Avenue

Witnesses reported that a green Volkswagen Jetta crashed and went into a ditch. The driver was seen fleeing the area and running toward the beach. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate the driver. The vehicle is registered to an address in Oxnard.  

9:48 p.m. / Warrant for Arrest / 800 block of Linden Avenue

A deputy noticed a man enter Smart & Final. Deputies witnessed the man attempt to exit the store, but quickly retreat back inside after seeing deputies. The man was identified as having a warrant, contacted and arrested.
