12:17 a.m. / Possession and Warrant / 4400 block Via Real

A man was contacted in his parked vehicle in a convenience store parking lot. During a consent search, two meth pipes and methamphetamine was located. The man also had a warrant, and he was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.  

Monday, Jan. 6  

1:35 a.m. / Attempt Commercial Burglary / Lillie Avenue  

A caller reported that someone attempted to force open the front door with some type of pry tool. No entry was made. Offense report documented.  

 

Wednesday, Jan. 8  

6:03 p.m. / Stolen Vehicle Arrest / 5500 block Carpinteria Avenue  

The victim left his car running while he moved another vehicle. An 18-year-old man got into the running vehicle and drove off. The victim called 911 while following the suspect through Carpinteria. Deputies arrived on scene and conducted a vehicle stop. The suspect admitted to taking the vehicle without permission. The suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.   

Saturday, Jan. 11  

1:43 a.m. / Warrant and Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Bailard and Carpinteria avenues  

Deputies contacted a man in his parked vehicle at the south end of Bailard Avenue. There was a bag of marijuana on the floor board of the back seat in plain view. A probable cause search was conducted for compliance of marijuana laws and during the search, multiple pieces of burnt tin foil were located throughout the vehicle. The man also displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Two of the man’s friends, who were walking on the beach, returned to the vehicle. One of the friends was a woman who was found to have an active warrant for her arrest. Both the man and woman were arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.
