Monday, July 29  

9:10 a.m. / Battery / Carpinteria Avenue  

Deputies responded to a bus stop on a report of a battery on a city employee. A woman with a history of public intoxication arrests was smoking at a bus stop when she was contacted by Carpinteria code enforcement officers. She hit one of the code officers with a large bag. The woman was placed under citizen’s arrest and then taken to Santa Barbara County Jail.

5:29 p.m. / Lost Wallet / 1000 block Casitas Pass Road  

A French national lost her wallet after leaving a supermarket. It contained her French driver’s license and two Visa credit cards.

6:03 p.m. / Drunk in Public / 5400 block Carpinteria Avenue  

A man was reported to be attempting to enter a senior living facility. He was contacted outside of the building and found to be intoxicated to the point that he could not care for his own safety. The man was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

6:30 p.m. / Gun Crime / 4600 block Carpinteria Avenue  

At about 4 p.m. a man left his car unlocked while he went into a fast food restaurant to get some food. The man returned to his car and discovered that the loaded 9mm Beretta handgun he had left unsecured in a bag had been stolen from the car.  

8:13 p.m. / Attempted Vandalism / Toro Canyon Road  

A caller reported that a neighbor threw a rock at his drone as he was flying it. The rock missed the drone, but landed on his back patio.  

Tuesday, July 30  

7:22 a.m. / Felony Assault / Jacaranda Way

Deputies were dispatched for a report of a man walking into the bedroom of a sleeping 14-year-old female. The man reportedly rubbed her back and side and the girl woke up. He was booked at Santa Barbara County Jail on two felony charges.

7:37 p.m. / Drunk in Public / Lookout Park  

A man was reported by the park host to be very intoxicated and unable to stand. Upon arrival, deputies saw that the man was drunk to the point that he could not care for his own safety. He was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

10:40 p.m. / Possession / 6th Street

A Lompoc resident was stopped for having an obstructed rear window. The man had marijuana in plain view. A probable cause search revealed methamphetamine in his backpack, as well as two pipes. He was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

Wednesday, July 31

12:45a.m. / ABC Violation / 4900 block Carpinteria Avenue

Deputies conducted a bar check at a pub and located a vodka bottle (one-quarter full) in a storage area behind the bar. In addition, two empty bottles of vodka were found in the pub. The pub only has a beer and wine permit. The pub shut down for the night and a report sent to Alcoholic Beverage Control to document the incident. 

Thursday, Aug. 1  

6:19 p.m. / Parole Violation / 4100 block Via Real  

A man was contacted for a search pursuant to his parole status. He was found with a concealed fixed-blade knife in his vehicle. The man was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.  

10:40 p.m. / Warrant Arrest and Drugs / Via Real at Palmetto Way  

A man was contacted, and a records check showed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. During a search of the vehicle, narcotics and paraphernalia were located in plain view. The man was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

12:13 a.m. / Warrant Arrest / 4400 block Via Real  

A woman was contacted because she was known to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.  

3:52 a.m. / Paraphernalia / Via Real  

A man was contacted during a traffic enforcement stop and found to be in possession of a used methamphetamine pipe.  He was cited and released.  

Friday, Aug. 2  

3:52 a.m. / Possession / Bailard Avenue  

A man and woman were contacted in the parking lot after hours. A consent search resulted in a small amount of methamphetamine being discovered in the woman’s purse. She was cited and released from the scene.

Saturday, Aug. 3  

1:49 a.m. / Public Intoxication / 1100 block Casitas Pass Road  

A man was found passed out on the asphalt in a parking stall at a fast food restaurant. A woman was then found passed out in a vehicle parked next to the man. Another woman then approached deputies and became irate and verbally abusive. All three were arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail.
