11:18 a.m. / Warrant Arrest / Lookout Park  

A man and woman were contacted in a tent on railroad property. The woman was cited for trespassing and released, and the man was arrested for three misdemeanor warrants and two new charges.

3:30 p.m. / False 911 call / 4000 block Via Real  

A man made repeated calls to 911 looking for a ride. He was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

Monday, Aug. 19  

8:25 a.m. / 10851 / Holly Avenue  

A caller’s vehicle was stolen from the carport sometime between 11 p.m. and first light. CHP attempted to stop the vehicle in the Jalama Beach area during the evening hours. The vehicle evaded CHP by driving over 100 mph and CHP terminated the pursuit.

2:33 p.m. / Public Intoxication / 1100 block Casitas Pass Road  

Carpinteria Code Enforcement Officers reported an intoxicated subject in front of a breakfast restaurant. Deputies contacted a woman who was ultimately arrested for public intoxication. During a search incident to the arrest, she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The woman was booked in Santa Barbara County Jail.  

Wednesday, Aug. 21

11:37 a.m. / Stolen Bicycle / 8th Street   

A caller reported that her bicycle was stolen in the night. The bicycle is a 27-speed “Martin,” silver in color, with a white sticker and a dent on the crossbar.  

Thursday, Aug. 22  

3:45 p.m. / Vehicle Vandalism / 1000 block Casitas Pass Road  

A caller reported that the driver parked next to him intentionally opened his door and damaged his vehicle. The suspect refused to provide his name or insurance info. A deputy will follow up on the incident.

Friday, Aug. 23

1:45 a.m. / DUI / 400 block Palm Avenue  

A man was reported driving recklessly through the State Parks area. A male driver was found inside his Gold Toyota Camry on Palm Avenue. He was intoxicated and confrontational with deputies. The man was arrested and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail.

Saturday, Aug. 24  

1:30 p.m. / Public Intoxication / Santa Claus Beach   

Deputies were dispatched to assist the Fire Protection District with a fall victim at a local business. An intoxicated female was transported to the hospital and an intoxicated male who would not identify himself was in the area and was eventually arrested for public intoxication and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail.    

1:47 p.m. / Nude people complaint / Rincon Beach   

Deputies were dispatched to the beach on a report of about 20 naked people sitting along the beach. The Park Ranger gave deputies a ride down to the beach on his 4x4 truck. The males put clothing on as soon as they saw the truck driving towards them on the beach. The nude sunbathers are affiliated with a club. The Park Ranger said that they have been receiving complaints of nude people on the beach for the past three weeks.

10:20 p.m. / Drunk in Public / 4200 block Via Real  

Firefighters and paramedics responded to a man passed out in his car. He was not having a medical emergency; he was intoxicated. The 37-year-old resident of National City refused to answer deputies’ questions. He was intoxicated to the point that he could not care for his own safety, and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail.
