6:59 p.m. / Drug Crimes / 5500 block Carpinteria Avenue
A Carpinteria resident was contacted for playing his music too loud in the parking lot. He was found to be in possession of approximately 13.8 grams of methamphetamine for sales and a glass pipe containing burnt methamphetamine residue. He was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.
Tuesday, August 6
9:00 a.m. / Heroin / Calle Ocho
An off-duty officer reported suspicious circumstances of possible drug dealing. Deputies arrived and contacted a man in the suspected vehicle. Another subject had left prior to deputies’ arrival. A records check showed the man had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. During a search incident to arrest, a usable amount of suspected heroin was found on his person. He was arrested and taken to Santa Barbara County Jail.
7:26 p.m. / Arrest Warrant / Eugenia Place
A citizen reported a man walking through the parking lot intentionally “bumping” parked cars. The man left the area and was contacted in the 5200 block of Carpinteria Avenue. He was immediately uncooperative and semi-confrontational. A records check showed he had a no bail felony warrant out of San Luis Obispo County. He was arrested and booked at Santa Barbara County Jail.
Wednesday, August 7
7:24 a.m. / Vehicle Burglary / Lillie Avenue
The victim reported that an unknown suspect forced open his truck and stole a folder of checks to his company. A bag containing several rubber memorial wristbands for one of the Borderline shooting victims was also taken.
11:12 a.m. / Identity Theft
A victim reported that an unknown suspect(s) opened a Comcast Cable account in Chicago in her name.
9:00 a.m. / Vandalism / Gibraltar Road
An unknown suspect(s) used a permanent marker to write on the home’s “For Sale” sign costing $50 in damages.

6:50 a.m. / Open Container / Linden Avenue and Beach
A man was cited for having vodka in his water bottle.
