Each year in August the Carpinteria Children’s Project takes a well-earned, two-week break. Families and staff gather before the break to celebrate the milestones that the kids have reached in the early childhood program—many of whom have been at CCP since infancy. A new cohort of early-learners will begin their Children’s Project journey when the program resumes operation Aug. 26, and many of the three- and four-year-olds in Ms. Gabby Cardona and Ms. Ana Velez’ class will move to pre-school on the Canalino Elementary School campus. On Thursday, Aug. 8, Carpinteria Children’s Project families and staff met in the CCP auditorium for a potluck. The young students sang some nursery rhymes before breaking into a free-form dance party/sing-along to the Lil’ Naz X hit “Old Time Road.”
