Longtime Carpinteria resident Barbara McCurry celebrated her 105th birthday on Jan. 12. Known as the “Carpinteria Waffle Lady,” for many years, McCurry opened her home to friends, neighbors and family on Star Pine Road every Saturday morning for a waffle breakfast. On her birthday, McCurry enjoyed phone calls, birthday cards and socially distanced visits from many friends and family.
