Barbara “The Waffle Lady” McCurry and her great-grandchild Penelope “Penny” Rowe celebrated their joint birthday on Jan. 12 at The Palms surrounded by family from Carpinteria, Ventura and Van Nuys.

Barbara “The Waffle Lady” McCurry and her great-grandchild Penelope “Penny” Rowe celebrated their joint birthday on Jan. 12 at The Palms surrounded by family from Carpinteria, Ventura and Van Nuys. Rowe turned 7 and McCurry turned 102. McCurry is known as “The Waffle Lady” because for years she has opened her Carpinteria home and prepared waffle feasts for friends and family most weekends.
