Will Breman

Will Breman comes to IBC on Dec. 29.

Artist Rick Sharp will have paintings at Island Brewing Company from Dec. 5 to Feb. 2 with an artist reception on Dec. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. where he and his friends will also play music.

Firmly rooted in Southern California’s surf culture, Sharp’s early work includes T-shirt designs and posters for O’Neill Wetsuits, Hang Ten Sportswear and the logos for Channel Islands Surfboards, Sims skateboards and Andreini surfboards. The artist also created several Fiesta posters for Santa Barbara’s annual celebration. As an avid surfer and lover of all things vintage, Sharp delights in creating his retro-surf paintings as much as he cherishes his time in the surf. He captures classic moments in his art at his favorite surfing beaches the way it was when the sport was young. Rick Sharp delights in creating his nostalgic paintings and explains that he seeks to depict classic moments “the way it was and sometimes still is.” His art is available online at ricksharp.com.

And back from performing on NBC’s nationally acclaimed show “The Voice,” Will Breman will perform a solo show at Island Brewing Company on Sunday, Dec. 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. Breman made it to the round of the final eight performers on “The Voice,” besting many talented musicians. His distinct vocalizing style, guitar work and ability to seamlessly embrace any musical style is a testament to his virtuosity.

“Island Brewing Company was one of Will’s first regular gigs, and every time he played, we knew he was something special,” said owner and founder Paul Wright. “To have him come back and play after being exposed to hundreds of millions of viewers on “The Voice” will present a special day of music indeed.”
