Mario Rios

Instructor Mario Rios practices the art of the Shodo, the way of writing traditional Japanese calligraphy at his restaurant Thario’s kitchen.

Seven more free virtual art classes are now available from the Carpinteria Arts Center. Look to the center for a wide variety of community classes through the end of the year, ranging from an introduction to traditional Japanese calligraphy and watercolor or acrylic painting to exploring polymer clay or wire wrapping ornaments.  Register for classes at carpinteriaartscenter.org. Classes are free, sponsored by the 93013 Fund, the Santa Barbara Foundation and the Carpinteria Morning Rotary Club.
