Iltze Alvarado

Iltze Alvarado’s design will be featured on Carpinteria’s new library cards. 

Iltze Alvarado’s pink flowers and monarch butterfly design has won the Carpinteria Library card design contest by a popular vote. The 11th grader’s design will decorate the library’s new cards, which patrons will begin using in July. 

There were 10 semifinalists: Alvarado, Evelyn Calkins, Valerie Carillo, Crystal Echeverria, Travis Holmstrom, James Keyser, Julie Maya, Anna Petersen, Whitney Welch and Lacey Zimmerman.
